Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in Colorado, so we encourage you to get out and enjoy it while you're here!
The bells in winter.
One of the most photographed sites in the USA, the Maroon Bells offer views just steps from you car, with miles of trails to explore from short hikes to super adventurous climbing days. Busses run 8 am to 5pm daily, so if you want to drive your own car up there, get there early!
Just a little guy for the frying pan.
The Roaring Fork and Frying pan rivers are considered some of the best fishing around Colorado. Bring your rod, or lean on our friends over at Aspen Outfitters to help you out.
Sky Mountain Park
Aspen and Snowmass have trails to suit every ability level and fitness level. The guys at Aspen Alpine Guides can get you out on the trails. And the guys at Basalt Bike and ski Aspen can get you set up with a bike if you didn't bring your own.
The Cascades at the Grotto Day Use area in the fall.
The Williams range near South Fork Pass above lower Lostman.
Just relax and have fun!
Rock Climbing on Independence Pass is an incredible spot to find yourself in the fall. The leaves are yellow, the air is cool, and many of the routes get lots of sun. Bring your own rack and draws or if you need a bit of guidance, Aspen Alpine Guides has everything you need.
Not crazy about biking uphill? Let the lifts do it for you.
Independence pass is full of trails, swimming holes, views and unlimited leaf viewing. Not to be missed is the Grottos Day Use area with access to the cascades, ice caves, and Gollums cave.
There are literally hundreds if not thousands of miles of trails in our area. Some easy access ones include Hunter Creek, Sunnyside, Ute Trail, Little Cloud Trail, Government, and Weller Lake. If you want to get a bit further out we have, Capitol Lake, Snowmass Creek, Lower Lostman and Upper lost man. Along with plenty of others. Pick up a guide book and or map at the Ute Mountaineer.
Not our thing, but it might be yours, and there is plenty of it between window shopping and anything else.
Plenty of food and nightlife to go around for everyones cravings.
Its mostly down hill and easy biking to the tavern for good Tex-Mex food and drink. Its not too hard of a peddle back to town but its not hard to call 970-925-taxi and request a ride back up to town with your bike.
Many options to choose from.
Rent boards or hire Blazing to take you out for a colorful fall experience.
